It is with great pleasure that we introduce and welcome Mr. David Burpee to our school leadership team. Mr. David has accepted our offer to be the Principal (K-12) of the SNA.
After graduating in 1974 from a teachers’ college in the USA, he started his career in a public school located in New South Wales, Australia. Several years later, he was hired as an elementary grade teacher in New York, USA. Mr. David quickly advanced through the ranks of school administration to become a Building Principal, Director of Curriculum, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, and finally, a Superintendent of Schools.
Upon retiring from education work in the United States, Mr. David decided that he would like to once again work in an overseas school environment. After considering several employment offers from around the world, he decided to accept a Campus Principal (K-12) position in an international school in Ho Chi Minh City. He later worked in a different international school located in Ho Chi Minh City as its Director of Studies (K-12).
Mr. David is eager to return to the international school community of Ho Chi Minh City. He has indicated, “I am thrilled about my upcoming return to Ho Chi Minh City and for the opportunity to work with students, teachers, staff and parents of the International Schools of North America. It is my belief that SNA has the potential to become a world-class international school and I look forward to assisting all constituent groups in realizing this goal.”
His formal educational training includes both a Bachelor and Masters’ Degree in Education from Western Connecticut State University; a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from the State University of New York; and Doctoral course work in Educational Leadership from Teachers’ College, Columbia University.
On behalf of all of us at SNA, we welcome Mr. David to our school community and look forward to working with him on a daily basis to accomplish his goal of our school becoming a world-class international school.
