SNA is very proud to announce that we are currently an International Baccalaureate (IB) candidate school for the Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP) and DP (Diploma program). At the core of IB philosophy is the IB learner profile, (link to IB learner profile) and SNA has adopted the 10 IB learner profile attributes as our school-wide learning outcomes. These three rigorous and academically challenging programs have been chosen by SNA as they allow us to deliver a diverse and rich curriculum which prepares our students for a rapidly changing world that requires 21st century skills and strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.
In addition to seeking IB authorization, SNA is committed to achieving high standards in every area of school life. To this end, we are also in the process of applying via a self-study report, for full accreditation with WASC, the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (link to WASC). Gaining accreditation with WASC will allow us to demonstrate that we strive to uphold high standards in all areas of our school life, not just in teaching and learning.
To complement our 3 main academic programs, we offer a rich extra-curricular after school program that offers such activities as roller-blading, chess, golf, football, basketball, study clubs and other activities that enrich and enhance students’ experiences at SNA. Also, we have a very busy calendar that is packed with academic and non-academic celebrations and festivals. The purpose of these is to increase awareness, become more internationally minded and to create cultural diversity. (link to calendar).
Our campus is very new, having been completed in October 2017, and boasts an array of labs, music rooms, ICT suites, virtual golf rooms, art rooms and other specialized areas. We are continually developing our facilities to improve the learning experiences at SNA and we invite you to come along for a guided tour of our campus.
We nurture a community spirit at SNA where parents are actively encouraged to become involved in the vision of SNA and we also offer opportunities to everyone to volunteer to help raise funds for many of the local charities that SNA has become involved with over the years.
Our teachers come from all over the world, and are committed professional educators who strive to make each students learning experience unique and enriching. Professional development courses take place throughout the year and teachers actively contribute towards creating a professional learning community that continually takes our teaching and learning to new heights. Please feel free to contact us for more information about SNA admissions, our programs or for a guided tour.
