SNA Saigon South Students to Represent Vietnam at the 10th Korea International Tee-Ball Festival

From August 27 to September 5, 22 students from International Schools of North America – SNA Saigon South will compete in the 10th Korea International Tee-Ball Festival at the Geumsan Sports Complex in South Korea.

Also known as the International Tee-Ball Festival, the annual youth sports and cultural exchange event is hosted by the Korea T-ball Federation. This year’s tournament is expected to bring together around 40 teams from South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Mongolia, Vietnam and Indonesia.

The competition marks another milestone for SNA Saigon South’s T-ball program, which has grown from introducing students to a relatively unfamiliar sport into opportunities to compete internationally.

In 2025, the SNA T-ball team became the first Vietnamese school team to compete in the Asia Open International Teeball Tournament in Japan. Facing teams from countries and regions where the sport is more established, SNA students experienced a level of competition rarely available to young T-ball players in Vietnam.

For many students, it was their first experience of international competition. Beyond the results, the tournament challenged them to communicate across cultural and language barriers, adapt to unfamiliar surroundings and perform under pressure while representing Vietnam.

“Our entire SNA community is incredibly proud of our young Eagles as they prepare to represent the school and Vietnam in Korea. This opportunity reflects their commitment, teamwork and perseverance, as well as our belief that every student should be supported to discover their strengths and pursue excellence beyond the classroom. Their upcoming competition in Korea builds on that experience and months of preparation, including regular training sessions and matches against local teams. Students have developed the technical skills, tactical understanding, and match experience needed to compete with confidence, alongside qualities that extend beyond the game, including discipline, perseverance, communication, and leadership.

As one of the first international schools in Ho Chi Minh City to offer T-ball, SNA Saigon South Campus has helped introduce students to a sport that remains relatively unfamiliar in Vietnam. Through opportunities to train, compete and connect with young athletes from across Asia, the school is contributing to the sport’s development while giving students a chance to represent their country.

The development of T-ball at SNA Saigon South Campus reflects the school’s wider Sport Excellence philosophy: every student should have the opportunity to discover a sport that matches their interests, strengths and ambitions. Alongside T-ball, students can choose from a wide range of sports, including football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, pickleball, virtual golf, martial arts, dance, swimming, and badminton, all supported by high-quality coaching and meaningful opportunities to train, develop, and compete.

This range allows Sport Excellence to look different for every student. For some, it means the discipline of T-ball training and the challenge of international competition. For others, it takes place on a different court, in the pool or on another field.
