UNIQUE BUSINESS IDEA OF GRADE 3 STUDENTS

In the 5th unit of the PYP programme, How We Organize Ourselves, students focused on economic activity and what it is that drives the cycles of consuming or buying to create a business.
They interviewed students and teachers and decided on a mask holder as masks are a need now a days and people tend to lose them. Once this was decided, students designed their own product using the design cycle and their design was created in our STEAM room with the laser printer, what they drew came to be!
All three 3rd grade classes then built a business and rotated role: marketing/advertising, table sales, traveling sales. Students dove into the concept of marketing and advertising and collaborated with the high school students to send the message school wide that 3rd grade would be running a mask holder business during lunch. It was then decided to further the act of meeting needs by donating all the money to Saigon Children’s Charity.
