Message from Acting Head of School:
It is with great delight that I welcome you to the International Schools of North America’s (SNA) website and to the wonderful vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh. SNA has been established in Ho Chi Minh for over 15 years and continues to earn a reputation as a provider of quality education. We are very proud to have just become an International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) school authorized to deliver the Diploma Programme (DP) and during this academic year, 2020-21, we will continue on our candidacy journey with our IBO Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).
As an IB authorized school*, we have developed a rigorous and challenging curriculum that ensures that we meet our school-wide learning outcomes that are driven by the IB Learner Profile attributes, thus preparing our students for an ever-changing and dynamic world.
Currently, we are seeking full accreditation status with the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) having just participated in an accreditaion visit in September 2020 and we expect notification of our status in December 2020. Also we are a Council of International Schools Member school (CIS). Accreditation with WASC and membership with CIS demonstrates our committment to deliver a set of very exacting standards of high quality teaching, learning, safeguarding and care to our students, teachers and wider community.
To promote international-mindedness, our school calendar is always very busy, full of academic and non-academic celebrations, festivals and other enriching events. In addition to the diverse curriculum on offer at SNA, we also provide a varied extra-curricular after-school programme of activities to enhance the students’ learning experiences at SNA.
The Him Lam campus opened in October 2017, and boasts an array of science laboratories, music rooms, ICT suites, art and design rooms and other specialized areas, such as a purpose-built STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) room. Our team of highly qualified and experienced educators are truly global with teachers coming from many different parts of the world, working in close collaboration with their Vietnamese colleagues. The role of the community is also very important to us as at SNA and we are constantly exploring options to strengthen the partnership we have with our parents and other family members.
We are at a very exciting stage in our continual development and the best way to truly appreciate this is to come and visit us. As the Acting Head of School, I would be very happy to give you a guided tour of our campus and to discuss the programmes with you. Also, to gain a flavor of what it means to be an IB school and an IB learner, we offer Parents As Learners (PAL) classes so that you can experience firsthand the classroom environment. Therefore, please contact our Admissions team today to arrange your visit.
I look forward to welcoming you to the SNA family.
