SNA was established in 2005 and is unique among international schools in Vietnam in that it offers a dual curriculum – instructing students in a Vietnamese program directed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training in tandem with an American program aligned with the State of California Content Standards and Educational Frameworks. SNA conforms to the guidelines of both programs and awards diplomas which serve as the foundation for those students who desire to pursue their studies at prominent universities in Vietnam, the United States or around the world.
SNA is exceptionally proud and confident that the innovative programs and effective teaching methods utilized by the Vietnamese and American program teachers and staff will provide a variety of educational opportunities for your child/children. Both programs are designed to enhance student creativity and potential while sustaining the reverence of the Vietnamese values and culture.
SNA has been accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The accreditation process, or Focus on Learning, is an ongoing school improvement procedure that involves all SNA stakeholders – staff, teachers, parents and students – in order to ensure that the school operates with a clear understanding of its vision, mission, and philosophy.
Our American program adheres to US Common Core Standards, and challenges students to keep up with a rigorous college preparatory schedule. We offer Advanced Placement (AP) classes in Mathematics and Science that allow qualifying students to obtain college credits while still in high school. We have a well-rounded staff of qualified and experienced teachers, many of them also possessing tertiary degrees in their subject areas. SNA’s full-term accreditation by WASC proves that we are meeting United States standards, and are offering a course of study that prepares students for studying abroad.
The SNA Vietnamese program follows the Ministry of Education and Training Standards of Vietnam. By continuing to study in the Vietnamese Program, students have the opportunity to take math and science courses that may offer greater challenges than their American counterparts. It also helps them to retain their traditions and have respect for their culture. Most students that study in international schools do not have the opportunity to attend Vietnamese universities, but by obtaining the MOET diploma at SNA, they are guaranteed an opportunity to do so.
